Zagori, located in northwestern Greece, is known for its 45 enchanting stone-built villages, known as Zagorochoria. Tsepelovo, built at an altitude of over a thousand meters on the Kazarma peak of Mount Tymfi, is the most populous but also the most remote of the villages of Zagori.
Zagorochoria has a long history, with deep roots in the late Middle Ages and an important part of its history is linked to the Greek Revolution.
Stone arched bridges, cobbled paths and stone stairs connect the settlements, forming a network that in the past served as a social and administrative center for the communities of the Voidomatis River area.
Since 2023 Zagori has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List, mainly due to the traditional architecture of its settlements, which is identified with the natural environment.
